There is accommodation for up to 10 guests in five rooms, Chalet Magic Christmas, all in bespoke rooms. Though an individual design aesthetic gives each room a life of its own they are tied together by their comfort, quality, and wonderful use of materials – marble and wood play a big role. Each room has an en-suite bathroom with L’Occitane beauty products, access to the chalet’s Sonos sound system, international satellite TV, and Bluetooth connectivity. The entertainment can be a bonding group activity in a cinema room, while a pool table and bar make the play room and inviting place to get together in the evening.

If it’s relaxation and post-slope recuperation that you’re after then head to the spa and wellness area which would grace any world-class hotel. A private treatment area can host massage and beauty practitioners and is a perfect yoga retreat. A gym will help you work up a sweat before you steam away your aches in a sauna, hammam or outdoor hot tub. That hot tub – which can accommodate eight people – sits beside a superlative 12-meter pool that can be enjoyed even in the depths of winter. In the chalets communal areas the focus is on warmth, cosines, and indulgence. South-facing windows and a large terrace make the big open-plan living area an inviting place to enjoy Alpine sun all year round. The terrace is a great place to dine outside – perhaps from the barbecue – and gaze up at Mont Blanc as you plan your next day’s skiing, or trekking in the summer.
